Sonata Resort Phan Thiet rooms, family suites and pool villas compared
Most couples book the 33 m² Deluxe Sea View; families do better in a Family Garden View or a 103 m² Premium Family room, and groups of six or more in the Three-Bedroom Pool Villa. Sonata lists 13 types in four sizes — 33, 50, 103 and 229–350 m² — and the real choice is view and number of bedrooms, not the name on the door.
Facts checked October 2026 against the hotel’s published information.

How to get the right room at Sonata
01
Match by size and view
Booking pages often use longer names than the resort. Match the square metres and the view line rather than the name to be sure you are comparing like with like.
02
Say twin or double early
Several 33 m² rooms come as double or twin. Pick the bed type on the booking page, and repeat it in the special-request box.
03
Ask for a newer room
If you have read about worn furnishings, ask for a recently refreshed room when you book. It is on request, and the hotel cannot always promise a particular building.
Honest note
The 33 m² rooms are compact for a beach holiday with luggage and wet towels, and several guests describe the decor in older buildings as dated. The villas are the big draw, but they face the garden, not the sea.
Questions about rooms at Sonata
What is in every room at Sonata?
Every room type lists free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a 43-inch flat-screen TV, a safe, a fridge, tea and coffee things, bottled mineral water, a hair dryer, slippers and an umbrella. Villas and bungalows add bathrobes, a living room and a dining table. In-room dining is available around the clock.
Can I get twin beds at Sonata?
Yes, in several types. The Deluxe Sea View and Deluxe Garden View come as a 1.8 m double or two 1.2 m singles, and the Deluxe Grove View and Grand Deluxe are twin rooms. Choose the bed type on the booking page and add it to the special requests too.
Do the sea-view rooms at Sonata have balconies?
Yes. The Deluxe Sea View and the Premium Deluxe Sea View both list a private balcony facing the sea, and the 50 m² Grove View and Grand Deluxe rooms have balconies over the palm grove. Because the beach faces east, sea-view balconies get the morning sun and some shade by late afternoon.
Is there a lift to the upper floors at Sonata?
Booking listings for Sonata mention a lift in the main building. The villas and bungalows are ground-level or have their own stairs. If anyone in your party has limited mobility, ask the hotel for a room near the lift or on the ground floor when you book; it is on request.
Which Sonata room is best for a honeymoon?
The Premium Deluxe Sea View: 50 m², a bathtub, a rain shower and a balcony that faces the sunrise over the sea. For more privacy and your own pool, the two-bedroom beachfront bungalow is the step up, although it is built for a family and priced that way.
Can two families share Sonata’s four-bedroom bungalow?
That is what it is built for. The 4-Bedroom Beach Front Bungalow is 350 m², single-storey and sleeps up to eight adults and four children, with a garden and pool on the beach. Check the bed layout for each bedroom with the hotel before you book.
Why do booking pages show two different three-bedroom villas at Sonata?
Both names — a “Pool Villa” and a “Three-Bedroom Villa” with a garden view — carry the same 229 m² size and appear to be the same villa type. The resort lists one Three-Bedroom Pool Villa. Compare the rate conditions and choose the better-value line.
